Meet the Therapist

Sheila specializes in helping couples and individuals understand the emotional patterns that keep them feeling stuck—whether those patterns come from past trauma, attachment wounds, or long-standing cycles of conflict. She creates a steady, compassionate space where clients can heal old hurts, develop a stronger sense of self, and build relationships rooted in safety, trust, and emotional attunement.

Sheila believes that healing begins in connection—connection with ourselves, with our partners, and with the parts of our story that deserve understanding rather than judgment. She is deeply passionate about walking alongside couples and individuals as they learn to communicate with clarity, rebuild trust, and feel emotionally safe again. In her work, Sheila offers a calm, grounded, and supportive environment where clients can explore their inner world, find their voice, and move toward a life marked by peace, meaning, and authentic connection.

Sheila Barnett is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas who works with couples, adults, and adolescents. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Oral Roberts University and a Master of Arts in Counseling from West Texas A&M University.

She is a certified Level I Restoration Therapist and completed Level 1 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and uses Gottman Method Couples Therapy in her work with couples. These evidence-based approaches allow Sheila to help clients strengthen emotional intimacy, repair patterns that fuel distance or conflict, and develop healthier, more secure ways of engaging with one another.

Outside the therapy room, Sheila treasures time with her family and friends. She has been happily married since 1997 and is the proud mother of three boys—life experiences that continually enrich her understanding of love, resilience, and connection.
